When I was a child, I learned to sew. I used a machine to make bags or clothes, and sewed by hand when attaching buttons or hemming pants. I made my own clothes, Barbie Doll clothes, doll clothes, a Pep Squad uniform and carryall bags (this was part of a Girl Guide project). I liked sewing.
Anyway, the housekeeper here at work just asked me if I knew where she could take classes. Eventually I wormed out of her that she meant classes in sewing, specifically, learning to use a machine. She took classes in Mexico, and learned many other things about sewing, but they didn't have a machine on which to learn.
If Kid ever expressed an interest in sewing, I sure don't remember it. It's kind of comforting that I CAN pass along to someone else my knowledge of something I loved.
Odd how things come up like that.
