miscellaneous stuff
Jul. 23rd, 2005 04:06 pmToby Keith's new song, "Ain't as Good as I Once Was," reminds me of a guy I used to know. Makes me smile every time I hear it. In my 25 years of being in the "dating" pool, he's the first and only guy who ever actually said that to me. Truth in advertising. I love that in a man. {sighs} Patrick, wherever you are, thanks for the memories. Hope your life is good.
I went to a local chinese place last night to eat, since it was payday. I was mortified to get to the cash register and realize that my cash was in the bank bag, at home, and not in my wallet or my pocket. I knew that my deposit had not been posted yet, but I tried my debit card anyway, just for form. Imagine my surprise to hear the cashier say, "It's OK. You can have your food. Just bring the money back next time you come." {thud} He was very kind, thanked me, and checked on me once while I was eating. Naturally, being me, I ate, went home and got my money and brought it right back. I was still embarrassed about it. I did notice, though, that walking to the car the first time, I walked really fast and kept my head down. After I'd squared up, I strolled to the car with my head up, looking at the sky and the scenery. All was again right with my world for the moment.
I am going to have lunch and a movie with my brother tomorrow, before going to take some digital photos of stuff for a new eBay client. Yay! lunch with brother. Yay! new eBay client.
I got to the end of the week with over a quarter tank of gas left. Yay! for tuneups that drastically improve gas mileage. I might be getting 12 miles to the gallon now, instead of 12 gallons to the mile. Also, gas prices appear to be going down.
My clothes (the pants, anyway) are getting so loose that soon I will NEED to get some in a smaller size. According to my doctor, I've only lost about 3 pounds, but the difference in my clothes is pretty dramatic.
I love my sister. Our deep, intimate discussions are few and far between, but always come at a perfect time. She always says something that I need to hear. Thanks, sister.
