books and stuff
Apr. 28th, 2005 10:54 amAnd in something only vaguely related to
theferret's Literary
Preservation post, Kid called me yesterday when she was on her way home from
school. She left me a voice mail in which she said, "It'll probably going to
take me longer to get home, because my backpack is really heavy because I
adopted some books." Her Language Arts teacher was apparently getting ready
to throw away some books (the blasphemy!) and Kid told me, "Can't have
that."
I love that I've managed to infect my 11 year old daughter with political
activism and a complete horror at the idea of throwing away a book. Yay!
Another bleeding-heart liberal (my dad's affectionate nickname) well on her
way!
Too bad that after
kimonthejourney's Howard Dean party I never
could turn my child away from him. (But really, I love that, too)
