Went to an advanced screening of a new USA show, Graceland.  The premise is six undercover agents from various alphabet agencies living together under one seized-during-a-drug-raid roof.

Short answer - I liked it.

There are some great classic and older cars and trucks in the beginning of this show, and I might have been paying a wee bit more attention to the cars than to the plot.

Clayne Crawford.  I don't know whether or not he'll be a series regular, and his part in the premiere was relatively small, but I really like him.  There is just something about him.

The cast has good chemistry together - though in the live Q&A afterward, one of the people on stage is not even in the premiere, so I was totally uninterested in anything she had to say.  Sorry, actress I don't know.  Anyway, they play well together.  There were moments of discomfort on the stage, which I thought was kind of odd because they talked about having been working on the show for six months.  Seems like they should have been past that.

It had some funny moments - I even laughed out loud a couple of times.  It could be that I found things funny that the younger people didn't.  I strongly suspect I'm not the target audience.

There were a couple of dramatic moments, but nothing too intense.

I don't like the fuzzy, unfocused thing they do in the segues from one scene to the next.  It makes my head hurt.  But like with NCIS: LA and their photo montages at the opening and closing at commercial breaks, I can probably adjust.

The house is gorgeous, and the cast talked about how the set they built to mimic the house is even better than the house, and that they'd love to party there.

I wasn't too sure about Vanessa Ferlito - I've only ever seen her in CSY: NY, and she wasn't my favorite character there, but she's OK here, and I might grow to like her.  She's funny in person, so that may help the transition.

Anyway, it was a fun get-out-of-the-house-for gods'-sake trip, and I'm glad I went.  I thought about staying for a movie afterward, but it was evening, so the prices were too high, and everything was rated PG-13, and nothing started for an hour and a half, anyway.  I think I'll stick with Saturday morning shows, since they're only $6 at AMC.  I thought about buying a bottled soda.  I asked the guy at the counter if they menu was for real, and the bottled sodas were actually $4.25.  He confirmed and I walked away.  I could win the lottery tomorrow, I could win every lottery on the planet tomorrow, and I would still not pay $4 for a frakking 20 ounce bottle of soda.  Not gonna happen.  Turned out, I didn't need to anyway.  There was candy and popcorn and sodas and bottled water at the premiere check-in, so yay.

I like this free screening business.  lol
