Watched the first three episodes of Zero Hour, just for the fun of it. It should be better than it is. The cast isn't terrible, but they're not good, either. At least not together. There are some good moments, and there are some "wow, that was just ridiculously stupid" moments. They telegraph everything, at least to the extent that I knew nearly everything that was going to happen before it did. The flashbacks were not well done, the ones between Hank and Laila, that is. According to the way White Victor keeps calling Hank 'brother' and the comments his parents made, there's something about him that will shock him to his roots, but I doubt I'll be surprised. And, at this point, I don't really care. I don't care what Hank is. I don't care if Laila ever comes home. I don't care about the supposed-to-be edgy FBI agent with all the pretty tats.
So far, they've pretty much done a one-episode/one-clock thing, and the clocks are beautiful, but once they've found the twelve clocks, what then?
If this were intended to be just a twelve or thirteen episode one-season thing, it might be worth bothering, and it'll be really nice for the people watching if the show wraps most of it up at the end, so when they get cancelled, no one's left hanging wondering what the hell it all means. There's just not enough there to keep the plot going past a short season, in my opinion.
The history bits are fun - the 'reenactment' of fictional Nazi stuff, the footage of Einstein - but it's not enough to really hold my interest. It's also good to see Anthony Edwards back on TV, but not that good. lol
On the other hand, the new ad for Kraft Zesty Italian dressing is completely over-the-top cheesy, and still funny. Must've been a woman came up with that one. Heeeee!
