Batman Begins and Serenity
Mar. 13th, 2006 04:19 pmBatman Begins was as good as I remembered it. I really do like this one better than any other Batman movie I've seen. The DVD, however, was teh suck. No special features other than the movie trailer. Uh-huh. Not spending money on that one.
Serenity, on the other hand...
I tried watching Firefly because of Joss, I really did. I did not get it and moved on to something else. Occasionally I regretted that I could not share the Firefly love that popped up in all areas of my life, online and off. That said, I really liked this movie. It was fun and snarky in the way Buffy was when it was really good, and suspenseful and engaging, and every other thing it should have been. I loved it, even without being a Firefly fan.
Not only did I love the movie, but I loved the DVD. Joss IS a fan, and that is apparent in his work on this DVD. Bunches of great bonus features, including mini-interviews with ComiCon attendees and cast members, trailers, background on the world of Firefly and on making a cancelled Firefly into a major motion picture. Loved, loved, loved this DVD. I might even have to put Firefly on my Netflix list and give it another try now, I was so moved.
