Oct. 14th, 2005 02:13 pmSB 1704: Jurors in Texas are undercompensated, resulting in
absenteeism from jury service and causing difficulty in assembling
adequate jury panels for trials. TAB has advocated for a jury pay
raise for several sessions, and this time it worked. Texans will see
a pay raise to $40 per day beginning on the second day of service and
will provide penalties for evading jury service.

The pay raise is from $6 a day.
