Voting

I left work on time today to take care of this. The lines in Carrollton at the Josey Ranch Lake Branch are really quite pleasingly short. One poll worker in particular did not want to let me read the thing I was supposed to sign. Seemed like an awful lot of verbiage to say, "I voted today and won't vote again for this election." He got snippy and told me to move on down to the voting booth line.

I do like the touchscreens, but I don't trust them. I should get something that says how I voted.

Texas Recycles Day - Carrollton

This greatly pleases the recycler in me. Woot!

For the first time, Carrollton will participate in a national event DIVERTING tons of recyclables from the landfill. We'll be in the Newman Smith HS parking lot from 9am to 1pm. We will have vendors who recycle electronic equipment, appliances without freon, cell phones, car batteries, car tires, durable medical equipment, casual shoes, carboard, paper, used clothing, scrap metal, brush, yard waste, etc.

Everyone who wants to recycle will drive through and our high school volunteers will unload whatever you bring. We will also record what we're diverting from the landfill, making Carrollton eligible for funds from Keep Texas Beautiful.

We all take pride in our surroundings. Keep Carrollton Beautifull serves as a catalyst and community liaison to make Carrollton a cleaner and more beautiful place to reside.
