One of my clients is buying a new house in the same community where she now lives. She told me last week that she fell in love with the view and her husband fell in love with the house. I can soooo see why.

You have a dream house? Yeah, I have bits and pieces of plans in my head for my dream house. This new house? It's a wet dream. Well, except for the price. I didn't ask, but it's in Stonebriar and backs onto the 9th and 18th holes and has a view of the Country Club and two ponds and must have at least 6000 square feet. I could undoubtedly live for a month or more on whatever they're going to pay for a monthly mortgage.

It's got an enormous deep back porch with four or five ceiling fans and doors into the master suite, the kitchen, the foyer, the "living room" and the bar. There are TWO cedar closets, a bathroom for EVERY bedroom, including one upstairs that opens onto an enclosed patio right above the pool, a utility room and a butler's pantry downstairs, a garage apartment over a detached two car garage, an attached three car garage with a golf room and three entrances into the house. The butler's pantry has another dishwasher, a food warmer and one of those flippity doors that opens from both directions (into the dining room). The utility room has a huge storage closet (big enough for the elevator shaft that could be put there if the need should ever arise - it's right under another closet upstairs) and has a walk-in shower and two built-in ironing boards. My client says she thinks the shower is a pet shower. The pool is fair sized with a "natural" bottom, so the water looks sorta greenish, and has an entrance directly into a bathroom with a walk-in shower and many cabinets. There is an office in the master suite, with an attached assistant's office. The master bath has two complete bathrooms, one for him and one for her. Hers has both a toilet and a bidet, a sunken tub with whirlpool and a standup shower with both stationary and handheld shower heads. Each side has the biggest closets I've ever seen both with built-in dressers. As a matter of fact, nearly all the closets have built-in dressers. There are so many built-in bookshelves that I could display ALL of my books, and most of my mother's. The bar has a wine chiller, a dishwasher and a ice machine. The garage apartment comes complete with a huge closet, shelving, a verrry nice microwave, a refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, lots of electrical outlets, and if you go down the back stairs, there is an outside entrance, possibly a servant's entrance. The house has three direct access doors to the attic spaces, meaning there is no bending and stooping, or wrestling with those damn pull-down ladders. The house is wired for intercoms/radios in every room, including both the attached and detached garages and the back patio, and is wired for high-speed internet access in several rooms (though not the garage apartment, more's the pity). And a totally cool feature? There is a coat closet in the front foyer that has a whole other room at the back, right about the size and height to make a really wicked playroom for a little girl.

I'm sure I'm forgetting to tell something, but the very best part of the deal is - the previous owners left some very expensive stuff behind: dining room suite with at least 10 chairs, an extremely large desk with other office type paraphernalia, TVs in the master bedroom and "living" room, a really nice stereo, washer and dryer and multi-line phones in about 8 rooms.

Dude. It was all I could do to avoid begging to be put in her will to inherit the house. Ordinarily I am not easily impressed by material possessions, but I'm making an exception in this case. :)
