I'm liking this show. It's fun.
I love the friendship developing between Abbie and Ichabod.
The linguist in me adored the John Doe episode - the language bits, anyway. The languages I could hear underneath Middle English were fascinating. Wonder how accurate the pronunciations were?

Date: 2013-11-07 04:51 am (UTC)It plays heavily on the "there's more than meets the eye here" trope, and there's a fair amount of gore, not always explicit, and not in every episode.
If I have to choose, I'm going to place it much closer to XF implied spooky than Supernatural. Without the omnipresent shirtlessness of Supernatural, to my sorrow. :'(
Mulder would probably really get a kick out of investigating Sleepy Hollow. And Scully would get a kick out of not believing a thing - on the surface.
I do really enjoy the friendship they're creating between between Ichabod and Abbie, and the tentative camaraderie growing between the sisters.
And I have to admit that Orlando Jones as a complete and utter straight man is mind-boggling. It's almost like he's someone else entirely. I forget he did those asinine 7-UP commercials. It's not always clear to me how Abbie convinces him to believe her, but....
Right now the first five eps are still on the FOX website, so you can stream them for free, unless you have a better alternative.

Date: 2013-11-07 05:31 am (UTC)This helps -- it sounds like it's much less likely to be disturbing for me than I thought. I'm only uh, 9 months behind on most shows except for the rare few I watch in real time, but I think I'll start recording this!

Lots of Biblical references.
Hope you do enjoy it.
