Random adventure

Well, adventure might be putting too fine a gloss on it.
Friday, after a focus group meeting, I was walking to my car, minding my own business, when I fell. This is not unheard of in my life. Matter of fact, it's at least the third or fourth time this year I've fallen for no apparent reason. And yes, usually it's on solid ground, no obstacles in my way. Go figure. I don't usually hurt myself very badly, though I've gotten a really bad sprain, a fractured ankle and a broken toe from past falls. I've sworn off going to the movies for people's birthdays, because the aforementioned? All happened when I went to the movies for people's birthdays. lol
Anyway. Pictures below the cut. You will please to politely ignore the razor stubble. Damn the resolution in my phone's camera. Damn it, I say. :)
This was Friday evening. Doesn't look too bad, right?

This was a picture I sent to my kid on Monday or Tuesday. Bruises are really starting to come up, and it's clear that the affected area was much larger than one would think just looking at the scraped spot.

It's really hard to get a good angle on my own leg, but this is today. The scrape is healing much faster than usual, and it's starting to itch. That's a good sign. In this picture, it seems like the bruises are starting to go away, but they're really not. They're fairly ugly, still black and blue for the most part, with the outer edges going yellow, which you can barely see here.

And no one wants to see what's below the band-aid. Trust me, you don't.
What you can't see looking at the picture is...my leg is numb. I cannot feel stuff touching me, pretty much from the knee to about two inches below the worst of the bruising. Unless, unless, I put pressure on it. Then, excruciating, agonizing pain. Like the other day, I put my knee into the seat of my recliner to fix my sheet. Yes, there is a sheet on my recliner. I sweat, OK? Anyway. I've done this hundreds of times, and almost always with my left knee. From the blue air, one might think something terrible had happened. Nope, just a little pressure on my shin, bad enough to make me cry. And however much I make fun of myself for being a sap, I don't cry easily.
All that's not even including my right foot, in which I was pretty sure I'd fractured something because walking on it was NOT fun. But then Monday night, after a cranio-sacral treatment from a friend, something popped, and by Tuesday morning, aside from the residual soreness, it was feeling better. I could put weight on it. It doesn't hurt to flex my toes away from my body. Today there's still a bit of swelling and some bruising, but it's much better, and when I accidentally walked over a threshold and flexed my foot the wrong way, it didn't hurt at all. Go me.
And all the people who put me in their Reiki grids when I asked. See that? I asked for help. What? It's a step. lol
