Mark this occasion, if you like. If I keep watching this, and I think I might, it'll be the first time ABC has darkened my screen since MacGyver got cancelled 14 years ago. Yeah, I was pissed about that. I was much younger then. Now I know that writing a long diatribe of a letter to the -local- station is worthless when you're registering a protest. :)
What was this pilot, like 23 minutes long, with commercials every two minutes? The counter on my VCR said 59:14, but I think it was lying. And speaking of VCRs, they do not have multiple speeds of fast-forward or rewind. What the hell's that about? Doesn't the remote control understand that when I hit fast-forward more than once, I want it to go faster? Simpleton.
I was thinking why on earth did Emily de Ravinie get billed over Matthew Fox, when I noticed the names were in alphabetical order. D'oh!
Seemed like a pretty good job of setting up characters in a VERY short amount of time (see above reference to 23 minute long pilot). I liked the weirdness of Terry O'Quinn's character. Not a word, but compelling nonetheless. I did not like the up-close-and-personal hand-held cameras. I hated those in Bourne Supremacy and hated them here. At least on a small screen it wasn't nauseating.
Naturally it's on a night opposite ten jillion other things, so I have to use my VCR. On the other hand, the VCR doesn't delete something with a simple press of a thumb, so I can watch all 23 minutes again to see if I missed anything. ;}
